Filed Date: 12/19/2013
Accession No: 20131219-5025
Description: PNGTS capacity expansion to Maine, comment of Save Passamaquoddy Bay under CP07-52, et al.
Information: FILE LIST

Summary: Portland Natural Gas Transportation System is nearly doubling its pipeline capacity from New Hampshire to Maine. TransCanada Corporation and Iroquois Gas Transmission System have both applied to deliver greater volumes of natural gas from the Marcellus, eastward. More domestic natural gas will be delivered to the Northeast, New England, and Maine, further killing Downeast LNG's already-bleak hopes of ever succeeding.

Dec 20

Filed By: Save Passamaquoddy Bay
Filed Date: 12/20/2013
Accession No: 20131220-5003
Description: Eastern Maine Natural Gas Exports to Canada, comment of Save Passamaquoddy Bay under CP07-52, et al.
Information: FILE LIST

Summary: Eastern Maine (a company in Baileyville) is re-exporting natural gas that has been imported from Canada via the Maritimes and Northeast Pipeline back to Canada as compressed natural gas (CNG) via truck. They are trucking CNG to numerous customers in Maine, as well.

There is plentiful domestic natural gas available, with more coming via new pipelines from the vast and prolific Marcellus gas field in Pennsylvania and New York. Downeast LNG is superfluous, and must be dismissed from permitting.
